Alvin and the Chipmunks is a really funny film. I have watched this film about 15 times and i never get tired of it. The film starts with three chipmunks living in a tree in the middle of the forest that they call home. Soon after, some working men chop down their tree forcing the chipmunks to leave the forest and find a new home. This is when they come to meet Dave. When they first meet Dave, he doesn't except them, but by the end of the film Dave and the chipmunks were a big family and were very close. I think that the moral of the story is to be loyal to your family. This is seen throughout the film mainly during the Christmas scene. The family were at home while the three chipmunks were opening their presents from Dave and were only given a small present, a while later, Ian knocks on the door with a truck full of presents, and bribes Alvin and the chipmunks into going to live with him. Then, the chipmunks decide to go and live with Ian because they feel that they will be treated fairly and get whatever they want. But they are mistaken, Ian Hawke revealed his true identity when they arrive at his house, he ends up spoiling them with so many sweets and sugary smoothies that they start feeling sick right before their big performance, he brings a doctor to look at them and she claims that they need rest. However, Ian doesn't accept this and instead gives them coffee to stay awake, which was a terrible idea. This just goes to show that he is a bad guardian and doesn't know how to take care of the chipmunks. The genre of the movie is mostly comedy, there are many scenes in the film that are really funny and make us all laugh, for example the scene when Theodore accidentally poos and to hide it Simmon has to pretend that it is a raisin and eat it. I believe that this film is most suitable for 10 and over because in certain parts of the film younger viewers might not understand what is going on, but at the same time it is very comical and kind of like a fairy tale because of the talking chipmunks. I rated this film 5 stars because it is very interesting. I would definitely recommend this film to others.
