Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
How do you support students with questions about careers in the screen industries? Questions such as: Who works where in TV and film? Which pathway into the screen industries might suit me? How do I write a screen industry CV? or What does it mean to be a ‘freelancer'?
To help you, Into Film has created a brand-new Step into Screen Careers series of 16 resources.
We know you are time starved and want more easy-to-access resources for young people, so please take a look at Step into Screen Careers. This pack of versatile resources will help your students explore a range of topics linked to their investigation and decision-making around careers in the screen industries.
Use each resource alone or build it into a lesson or activity: it is up to you. This pack of handouts and activity sheets can be used in career guidance discussions or to support further careers research; to support discussions at information events and parent/carer evenings; as part of lessons linking careers to the curriculum or exploring options with school subjects; as part of PSHE or form-time activities. Students can use these independently or with the support of educators, career professionals or parents.
These resources support key career decision points through secondary/post-primary school and sixth form or college, and are suitable for young people aged 11-18.
These resources will help you meet careers benchmarks and standards in your settings right across the UK, including the Gatsby benchmarks in England. The activities encourage young people to think about the practicalities of entering employment, with a spotlight on the unique aspects of the screen industries like film, TV, and games.
Young people can use Step into Screen Careers to unpick how the subjects they enjoy at school or college might connect with future screen careers. Use our activity sheets to help them explore different routes into the screen industries and screen industry career paths. They can find out about the differences between freelance working and being employed. Plus, they can dig into freelance finance and budgeting for self-employment.
In our latest set of handouts (#9-#16), young people get the chance to look at the different spaces where film and TV crew work through our custom designed illustrations. By examining ‘Who works where?' learners can think about which environments best suit them and understand that in the screen industries, there are jobs to suit everyone.
You can access the resources 24/7 for FREE. All you need is an Into Film account and then to hit download!
If you're new to Into Film, all you need to access our free resources is an Into Film Account. Don't worry, it's completely free and only takes a moment to set up. Plus, you'll also gain access to hundreds of free curriculum-linked resources, further training opportunities, and with a Public Video Screening (PVS) Licence, hundreds of free films to stream safely and legally with Into Film+.
