Synopsis

This rip-roaring disaster movie is not the film to watch for a scientifically accurate analysis of what would happen if an asteroid the size of Texas really hit the earth. What it does offer is fast-paced action heroics from Bruce Willis as an "Ordinary Joe" oil driller, called upon to go into space with his team of misfits to plant a nuclear warhead in the centre of the asteroid, attempting to explode it before it destroys all life on the planet.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
