Katya is a talented teenager who is preparing for a major audition at the New York Ballet Academy. Supported by her tutor and father, a famous ballet dancer who had a career-ending injury during a performance, Katya feels extra pressure to follow his path. One night she stumbles across a group of hip-hop dancers and one of their members, Marlon. Katya becomes enthralled with the dance genre and a relationship with Marlon begins to blossom. Although she tries very hard to juggle both of her interests, practicing with the group leads Katya to begin neglecting her ballet practice. As pressure builds, Katya must make a decision on what she truly wants, even if that means letting some people down. This upbeat and enjoyable dance film discusses themes of growing up, relationships and following one’s passion.
