This imaginative German-language film follows the life of 6-year-old Paul, a boy who must stay indoors due to illness; an incurable disease he is told is called ‘Disease of the Moon’. Every afternoon he has an appointment with his older sister Lisa where they fantasise that Paul is an astronaut and Lisa is a scientist who accompanies him on a spaceship to the moon. This fantasy game, depicted by animation, allows Paul to deal with his reality. However, as his illness is further complicated and his sister experiences her first love, their bond is challenged. This melancholy family film looks at hardships through the eyes of young people and presents creativity as a necessary tool in navigating changes.
