This French comedy-drama buddy movie is based on a true story. Phillippe is an extremely wealthy quadriplegic who has been through a series of ineffective live-in caregivers. Interviewing new candidates, he is struck by Driss, a Senegal-born ex-convict who has only turned up to get a signature to enable him to claim benefits. After being tricked into taking the job on a trial basis, the two men bond and form an unlikely friendship, based around honesty, humour, and treating one another as equals. The story clearly struck a chord with audiences, becoming one of the biggest hits of all time in Europe.
A moving story of friendship and heroism in the face of prejudice.
