Synopsis

At a mass gathering of New York's street gangs, a chieftain addressing the assembled crowd is killed by an unseen assailant. The Warriors are wrongly accused of the murder and they escape, spending the rest of the film in a desperate attempt to make it back to the relative safety of their home turf in Coney Island. The film has lost some of the shock value it had on its initial release back in the late 1970s, but it remains an exciting, pacy thriller.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
