Synopsis

Live-wire comedian Robin Williams became a film superstar through his performance as Adrian Cronauer, a maverick DJ who gets personally involved in the conflict of war, while bringing rock 'n' roll and some much needed light relief to American troops serving in the Vietnam War. Loosely based on the real experiences of Cronauer the film is consistently lively and funny as well as touching and emotive yet remains a perfect showcase for Williams' improvisational comedy.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
