Careers in VFX
This Webinar was recorded in March 2025, and was delivered in partnership with BAFTA Scotland. In it we speak to Lydia Bland (VFX Producer) and Aidan Scott (VFX Artist) from Scottish Visual Effects (VFX) studio FixFX who reveal what VFX involves and their own routes to working in this exciting field of the screen industries.
FixFX is a Glasgow-based VFX studio specialising in 2D effects for film and television. Their work includes TV series such as The Penguin, Stranger Things and The Buccaneers, along with beloved Scottish productions like Outlander, Still Game, and Shetland.

Wicked Futures: A Q&A on Careers in Film
Ever wondered what it's like to be part of the magic on a massive movie set? This online Q&A draws on the spellbinding story of the musical adaptation, and the many behind-the-scenes professionals that helped bring Wicked to life on the big screen. Offering insights and inspiration to young people who might be unfamiliar with the many diverse job roles involved in making a film, several trainees who worked on Wicked reveal all about their time and experiences on the production.

Taking place live from BAFTA in London in March 2024, and broadcast live across the UK, these livestreams feature careers talks across film, games and TV, in celebration of both International Women's Day and National Careers Week. There were two sessions for ages 11-14, and two for ages 15-18.
