Research and Impact V2

Our vibrant and engaging programme encompasses teaching, careers and filmmaking, and is achieved by delivering a wide range of learning and teaching materials, supported by excellent teacher training. Our UK-wide programme provides screen industry careers information and advice, support for young filmmakers, and brings the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching.

Measuring the reach and impact of the activity

At Into Film we have developed many ways to collect and analyse both quantitative and qualitative data to help us assess the impact of our programme. Our team have built internal expertise around different methodologies to measure the positive benefits of engaging with film in education. This knowledge, supported by experienced external evaluators, ensures we develop a robust evaluation framework that allows us to measure our reach, impact and legacy against our funders' objectives, as well as enabling us to continue to review and enhance our existing programme.

Research and Impact page stats (Mar 2025)

In 2024, we welcomed 350,000+ young people and educators to the Into Film Festival (including 40,000 first-time cinema goers). In 2024, some 15,000 educators streamed films in the classroom using Into Film+. We also launched Every Child a Filmmaker, an exciting new filmmaking initiative that has funded 35+ youth-led productions across the UK, and we have inspired many thousands of young people to consider a career in the screen industries through our Get into Film social media channels.

We will continue to develop our excellent filmmaking offer, support young people, including those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the Screen Industry, to take their first steps into a screen industry career and be the go-to-place for the use of film in education.
