Susan Wokoma to host the Into Film Awards 2024

We're delighted to announce that actor, writer and director Susan Wokoma will host the Into Film Awards ceremony at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on 25 June 2024. Having previously joined us to present an award in 2018, we're thrilled to welcome Susan back as this year's host.

I am excited and honoured to be this year's Into Film Awards host. I presented an Into Film Award a few years ago and can honestly say it was a truly inspirational experience witnessing the creativity and brilliance of all the young people involved.

Susan Wokoma

A British actress, writer and director, Susan Indiaba Wokoma graduated from RADA, and has gone on to appear in films such as Enola Holmes, The Beautiful Game, Half of a Yellow Sun and The Inbetweeners Movie 2. Her television credits include: Cheaters, Crazyhead, and Chewing Gum.

Susan has also performed in many renowned theatres, most recently in Teenage Dick at the Donmar Warehouse. Susan wrote, starred in and produced an award winning short film called Love The Sinner, and has written on shows such as The Reluctant Landlord. Susan will make her directorial debut with the feature film Three Weeks, which she also wrote, and will star in.

The Into Film Awards, sponsored by the UK film industry and supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery Good Cause funding, celebrates young people's creativity in film, showcasing and highlighting the wealth of tomorrow's creative talent. Young people from across the UK whose short films have been nominated will be recognised at a star-studded ceremony, which has previously been attended by some of the biggest stars in the industry, including Daniel Craig, Lashana Lynch, Eddie Redmayne, Lily James, Luke Evans, Gemma Arterton, Charles Dance, Ruth Wilson, Bill Nighy, Simon Pegg, Martin Freeman and Naomie Harris.

The nominees will be announced on 7 May, and are recognised across ten categories, which span a range of age groups. The winners will be presented with their awards by stars of the film and entertainment industry at the ceremony in London on 25 June.

Celebrating our 10th year, we anticipate this year's Into Film Awards will be bigger and glitzier than ever, and we received an unprecedented number of film entries from children and young people from across the UK. We believe that every child should be given the chance to learn hands-on filmmaking skills and be able to tell their own stories through film, which is the central aim of our Young Creatives programme, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery Good Cause funding.
