On 29 September, four Into Film Youth Advisory Council members were invited to a Q&A with Into Film Cymru Ambassador Rhys Ifans at the Welsh Assembly building, Senedd.
While sitting literally in the heart of Wales Rhys recounted his phenomenal career, from his break out role in Notting Hill and Blockbuster roles such as The Amazing Spider-Man to appearances in music videos like Oasis' The Importance of Being Idle. It is fair to say that hearing about a career spanning over two decades inspired the young actors to aspire to a future role in the film industry - within and beyond Wales.
From Ifans' almost local start in the cult classic Twin Town he has constantly stolen the spotlight in iconic and record-breaking films. As a member of a community who grew up knowing his name but not his face until recent years, it is a strong statement for him to define himself as a Welsh actor and to identify so strongly with generations past and future.

Amazing experience, couldn't believe how nice, funny and down to earth he was. Great to have support from such an iconic Hollywood star. His stories and advice have inspired me to want to get into the film industry!

Rhys also recently helped programme films for the 2019 Into Film Festival alongside a number of other Into Film Ambassadors such as Kenneth Branagh and Naomi Harris. He selected Oliver! as "one of my all-time favourite films."
Ar y 29ain o Fedi, aeth pedwar aelod o Banel Ieuenctid Into Film i sesiwn holi-ac-ateb yn y Senedd gyda Llysgennad Into Film Cymru, Rhys Ifans.
Wrth eistedd yn llythrennol yng nghanol Cymru, soniodd Rhys am ei yrfa gyffrous; o'i rôl chwareus yn Notting Hill, i gymeriadau eiconig ffilmiau blockbuster fel Spider-Man ac ymddangosiadau mewn fideos cerddoriaeth.
Braf oedd clywed am ei gyfoeth gwaith Rhys ers iddo ddechrau gweithio yn y diwydiant dros ddau ddegawd yn ôl. Roedd ei straeon difyr a lliwgar yn sicr yn ysbrydoliaeth i'r actorion ifanc sydd a'u dyheadau ar weithio yn y diwydiant yn y dyfodol.
Mae gyrfa Rhys wedi tyfu o ffilmiau lleol am fywyd Cymru, fel Twin Town i ffilmiau byd-enwog. Fel rhywun a dyfodd i fyny yn gwybod ei enw ond nid ei wyneb tan y blynyddoedd diwethaf, mae'n wych ei weld yn diffunio ei hun fel actor o Gymru ac sy'n apelio at geneldaethau gwahanol.
Ellie, Into Film Aelod o Banel Ieuenctid Into Film Cymru
Profiad anhygoel, dwi ddim yn gallu credu pa mor gyfeillgar, doniol a hawdd i siarad ag e oedd e. Roedd hi'n wych cael cefnogaeth seren mor eiconig o Hollywood. Mae ei straeon a'i gyngor wedi fy ysbrydoli i eisiau mynd i mewn i'r diwydiant ffilm!
Jakob, Aelod o Banel Ieuenctid Into Film
Fel Llysgennad Into Film fe fu Rhys yn ein helpuhefyd i raglennu ffilmiau Gŵyl Into Film 2019. Dewisodd Oliver fel "un o fy hoff ffilmiau".
