Kickstart Careers with the Into Film Awards 2025

Why not encourage young people to ‘have a go' at filmmaking as a great way to test their interest in a career in the screen industries. Students have until March 4 to create, edit and submit their short films into the biggest film awards event for young people in the UK. Every year Into Film brings together young people, film industry professionals, educators and film stars to celebrate the achievements of the next generation of talent from within the world of film. We encourage entries from all levels of filmmaking including beginners still harnessing their skills - we strive to encourage and nurture the future faces in filmmaking.

There are 11 categories recognising talent in young people aged 5-19, including categories for animated, live-action, and documentary filmmaking. Taking part in the Into Film Awards can lead to a range of benefits including career development, especially for those who win our prestigious Ones to Watch award.

Spotlight Resources

This month we're spotlighting the Industry Insiders series of short, snappy lessons to introduce secondary-aged students to the responsibilities of key industry roles. Each lesson features an industry encounter with a different role: editor, director, director of photography, art director.

These engaging, ready-to-use PowerPoint lessons introduce students to key roles in the screen industry, such as art director, director, director of photography, and editor. Students will find out what they do, get their top tips, find out the skills they need for their job, and try out some activities to develop an understanding of roles.
