‘Home Alone’ By John Hughes is a Christmas comedy which displays a boy, named Kevin, being left home alone while his whole family is on a Christmas holiday to Paris.
Once home alone, Kevin realises his wish that his family disappeared, to his surprise, came true. He faces problems on his time alone due to burglars trying to rob his house, but little did they know they were in for a shock as he set up treacherous obstacles in which they have to tackle.
As the movie progresses, Kevin learns valuable lessons and to never take his family for granted. The film also gives the audience a feel of festiveness, as the setting and jolly music powerfully allows the viewers to realise it is infact a Christmas film.
In my opinion, I think that the characters are described very well, almost as if they are real people, the actors definitely playing a big part. Kevin has a resilient, yet hilarious personality, his jokes and reactions always bringing a smile to those who watch it.
Overall, John hughes highlights the moral of the story brining a helpful meaning that you don’t realise what you have until it is gone when his family ‘disappeared’.
