I like this film, I don't think it's good enough to be 5 stars - if anything it is a 4.5, if only into film would allow .5 stars - but if the Rise Of The Guardians had the time it needed to develop its ideas and characters then I think it would serve excellently as a 5 star film. For instance, the character's relationship to each other should've been developed more. You don't really see any of the Guardians (other than Jack Frost) developed beyond their identity as the Guardians of Childhood. I should mention, they aren't directly named "Guardians of Childhood" they're just called The Guardians, but the Rise Of The Guardians is adapting the Guardians of Childhood series so thats why I have dubbed them as such. To further elaborate on this point, I feel Pitches design should've been improved. In the film, he's just a triangular mass of darkness and nightmares. Which isn't a bad foundation, but when it's just the foundation it doesn't make something useful. Now on to what I liked about the film, the animation was excellent and the sets are imaginatively designed, this is one of the things that shows the passion that went behind the film for me. On Pitch, I felt that Jude Law gave an excellent performance, his voice much like a sunset on a beautiful day for the voice acting world. I further mention how I feel about his voice in my review on A Series of Unfortunate Events - entitled: Wow, this is dark for a kids film. _ I also loved the Sandman's voice actor, clearly, his best work as a voice actor. I really, truly, think this film deserves a remake or reboot. There's a lot of potential for a series of films like this, and it could be a global phenomenon, if given this chance to be better. Since there is a live action, How to Train Your Dragon film, why not give a little attention to this film, right?
