I used to watch HH when I was younger, In fact, a notable favorite of mine was the episode were Henry tricks Peter - his brother - that he's several hundred if not thousand years into the future. Though I recall feeling that it was too short and should've had more, the writery part of my brain wishes that over the course of the episode Peter gradually figured out that he hasn't time traveled and is still in the present. But this isn't a review of my feelings for the show, this is about the film - which I also watched at a young age. The plot of the movie (from what I remember) is Henry having to go to a different school, until through shenanigans and working with a former enemy he finds away to make sure he doesn't have to change the oh so holy Status Quo. See, it's so important that I've capitalized the S and Q! I've seen this kind of plot before, with a film I cannot name for the life of me, and I don't like it. The premise of the films give way for a good metaphor on accepting change and finding solace in the future but still remembering the past but these stories don't take that opportunity, metatextually they are saying: "Change is bad and nothing should change" and I think that's a bad message to teach kids. Change can be shocking but stagnation is boring.
