Well, you finally ask it. The one and only Rio 2. Its a movie that doesn't need to exist and why is it the only Blue Sky movie that is not an Ice Age movie! If you don't know I like the first movie, its not fine art but for my money its one of their best movies they have to offer. Sequels can be great for better then the first or worse then the first and collectively agree by many audiences and suffer the worst fate of a movie can make; you know what it is? Being forgotten about and ignored.

This the case here, I barely see any YouTuber prise this and instead gets trashed. I'm glad the movie get that treatment because its really an unnecessary sequel (review ends, just kidding)!

Come on the movie's title is Rio 2, can they a text like 2 the jungle or something. I'm going to tell you why I think its the worst and without a further-a-do let's get into it:

Good first: I'm just going to tell you that not everything in this movie is bad, first the animation is good. I don't have anything to say other then the paper cut outs in the travelling montage is neat and dose have some energy like the first with the animation. Aesthetic wise its more fitting then Ice Age 5 (don't worry I will compare this movie) and... I like the detail of the nut.. deez-. Ummm, the 20 minutes is okay and the best part of the entire movie.... ummmmm..... I like documentary style on the camera.....okay I'm just grabbing everything in the bag at this point and the cat left it.

The issues I have with this movie (there's a lot) : Okay, where do I start with this movie? I firstly want to talk about the plot because this movie is trying to have so much side plots for some reason, here's all the side plots:

1. Blu and family goes to jungle

2. Blu trying to fit in

3. He's family having fun

4. Love rival

5. Linda in the jungle

6. War against another tribute

7. Nigel

8. Music competition

9. Bad guys chopping down trees

There is so much going on and forced us to care about this, like WHAT IS HAPPENEDING?! I absolutely hate the adventure discover trope in movies because its the entire plot line through out the movie and its tried slope. This movie is pure nonsense! Things just happen and there is only three side plots in this movie but jeez this movie goes far. Like do we really need two villains, two villains! The movie can contrasted which one to pick just pick one!

Do we really need Nigel back? Its really necessary and not to mention the character flanerization of him, he's more ,comedic? If the movie is go for but it completely tones down and also the scene he went by he's target is so stupid and dumb! The new villain sucks because we don't even know what is he's motivation here and it makes him so unthreatening. The Blue Sky movies really need re-writes! But I do like the lollipop though.

I also don't like the new voice actors Kristin Chenoweth and Bruno Mars, if you seen the Blue Sky movies casting you realised its famous celebrity voice actors of their track record and this along side Ice Age 5 is the worst offenders in my opinion. They are playing themselves and that's their whole character, there's nothing to them!

The comedy is not very funny: I don't have a lot to say on it because the comedy is kind of cringey, like sometimes the characters constantly shouts and its annoying or the humour just falls flat and in your face.

The painful running time: I should also mention the running time of the movie , its waaaaaay too long! This is the longest Blue Sky movie, its bloody almost 2 hours long and the reason why I feel that why is because the competition scene is filler! There is nothing to progress the plot! YOU GET NOTHING! The movie feels like its going on for hours and its not enough justification because its not executed well!

Compare to Cars which also have a long running time but that movie works because of its simple, straight forward plot and much, much fought out before the film makers starts it. I still love this movie to this day.

The biggest thing that annoys me the most: Oh boy its Blu, I get that he's the clumsy bird that mess up but I feel like this movie goes way too far on that, the point I'm not even laugh at him getting beat up all the time and its get on my nerves! Seriously on the second act of the movie he's constantly gets put down by others and I hate that because it doesn't want to make laugh it makes want to feel sorry for him and hate everyone else. I hate the dad getting beaten up tropes in comedies, they are not going any where at all and I can't invest their struggle and want to shove it in my mouth and expect me to care.

I'm not saying I hate Blu in this movie its the world around him I hate and granted I was routing for him but not everyone else in this movie. I can't believe Jewel straight up forced him to go and she gets mad at him because he didn't enjoy the new world, I mean do you just travel almost the entire world of South America? Not to mention its a repeat "I don't here" in the first movie again, flippin hell Blue Sky! You like to put the most annoying things in your run time, don't you! Jewel is kind of unlikable in this movie for some reason!

Also this line she says :

Blu: " How can this be home! I have done everything I can fit in and help out but no matter what I do it's wrong!"

Jewel: "You need to figure out what you want and maybe stop thinking about just yourself and start thinking about others us!"

Calling he's clumsiness is a bad thing and uncertificated and being selfish for not agreeing to being in the jungle... WHAT?! WHY?! Not only this sending a terrible message right off the gate for one is right one is wrong cliché but completely undermined the development of the first movie of the two they had! Its character assassination people! My god!

The side characters and the new ones are completely useless and don't have the same energy of the first movie.

Compare to Ice Age 5 : I know a lot of people will disagree on me but I think Ice Age 5 is better, yeah its also a pointless sequel but the difference is that, sure the plot of the movie is stupid but at least its not too much and in my opinion its way more memorable then this. Also at least it doesn't have an harmful message unlike this movie.

Final thoughts: So yeah, Rio 2, more like Rio p*o (I know, its terrible as the movie itself)! Its an incomprehensible , nonsensical experience. Its infuriatingly awful to the first movie and why is it even a Blu Sky movie, it fails on every level , its so pointless and what is it made for?! I get that kids would might like it but I'll argue that kids are going to enjoy the first one wat more then this. For my money its an nightmare, its Junk! Cinematic Classic Junk! This is why this is the worst Blue Sky movie to be made! This movie has a similar problem to Ralph Breaks the Internet being that the first movie have so much heart and love put in but the sequel completely ruins it! Its dishearten to see a first movie with so much talent and effort is now a waste of talent and ruins everything what makes the first so special.

So that's everything I got to say!
