Swallows and Amazons (2016)

Swallows and Amazons is a 2016 British family film, filmed in Lake district, England and based on the book Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome. This film was about a British family that stayed in a farm the mother had four children named John, Susan, Titty, Roger and their baby sister Bridget Walkers. There was this man called Captain Flint, who was assumed to be a pirate, had a bad reputation on the Walkers for some reason. There was an island on the lake that the four oldest siblings had a longing to get on the island. Few days later, they set off to go to the island but they face many obstacles along the way. They arrive on the island but find out it is owned by the Amazons. However, they stay on the island. Furthermore, they needed food so they went to the local town. Whilst they were there, they met two Russian spies. Eventually, they meet the Amazons and they weren't friendly. The Walkers and the Amazons went in a mini war to rule the island. Turns out the two spies were after Captain Flint, which to the Amazons is called Uncle Jim, for a reason(can't say the rest all a wise it is a spoiler).

My favourite character was Roger because he was so resilient and adorable. My most hated characters was the two Russian spies because they were so deranged to try kidnap Captain Flint. My favourite part was when Roger kept on leaving the chicken coop door open because it was humorous. My least favourite part was when the two spies kidnapped Captain flint because it was nerve-racking.

The music was fabulous on how it would switch to the evil spies and back to the family. The music choice was exquisite. The best music I have ever heard in a film. I would have liked if they sang in the film.

The camera shots were excellent. There were so many medium shots and long shots. It would have been better if there we more up close shots.

I think it should stay a PG as there are guns. I think it should be age 9+ because there were so many weapons that children could be scared of. It is 3 stars because there was too much going on in the movie and they need to add more up close shots and to sing in the songs. Over all, I think it is a wonderful film. If I was you I would personally listen to the music. Finally, I recommend this film.
