So you probably heard of Dinosaur before, I remember liking and re-watching a lot as a kid because at the time I love dinosaurs .For a recap it's movie starring a dinosaur named Aladar who was raised by monkeys needs to find a herd which he ended up one. This movie was critically given 65% (which 65 million years ago when dinosaurs died) but over time it was forgotten and made 349 million in the box office. In my opinion this is the black sheep of Disney's experimental era (which is Disney canon movies released from 2000 starting with Dinosaur and ending in 2009 with Prince and the Frog) because recently on YouTube this movie got more hate like you probably know Schaffrillas Production or Ls Mark ( who is an Irish Youtubers by the way) both of them ranked this movie dead last on their Disney ranking list (Which is the reason I motivate to watch this). So without a further-a-do let's see if it's actually bad?: Before I started to review this movie I want to address the Dinosaur ride at Animal kingdom because this ride used to scary me as a kid but now this is my favourite Disney ride in the entire Disney theme park rides. I love how crazy it is and I'm hopeful that Disney keep Dinosaur USA OH WAIT! They are replacing it with Indiana Jones and Encanto .... why? Just why? Dose that defeated the purpose off animal kingdom you know A PLACE FOR ANIMALS NOT FOR DISNEY IP'S! WHAT THE FLIP ARE DOING DISNEY!! >:( What's going? Oh yes the review! Animation: I know the animation aged like milk, like the teeth on the dinosaurs looks uncanny and weird and probably the worst looking Disney movie by far BUT I appreciate that this movie is trying something different with the realistic art style and vibe which the artists accomplished well even it's CGI ABOMINATION! It also which feels like a dinosaur documentary. I should mention this movie is actually practical effects, I know that's crazy to think about it isn't pure CGI, from a movie from 2000 it's kind of a breakthrough for it's time, so yeah I'll Dinosaur that. The plot is plotless: My biggest problem with the movie to me is the plot, it started off with the Carnotaurus attacking the the dinosaur which the egg ended up get into the jungle with monkeys because dinosaurs fighting over an egg. The egg opened up and Aladar was born and makes a pee joke. Suddenly there where meteors crashing down to Earth and the movie ends..... NOPE! So I guess they survived for some reason and find a herd but then oh no a Carnotaurus I'm shaking my seal leather boot! So Aladar somehow find home and got the herd home and a happy ending. You see the problem is that the plot just happen and it happens all for a sudden, it's not the worst example for plot convenient but it's good either. I'm so thankful (or a saving grace you might say) it that the story is very subtle and thematic. This movie also doesn't play it safe or play down to the kids with annoying sound effects or childish humour to distracted the kids. I thought this movie is going to have doo jokes but no but it dose have some pee jokes but it was only used twice and that's because it's not a comedy. The Carnotaurus are pretty cool: I'm saying it they are the best part of the movie in my opinion because I find them pretty scary, a threat to our protagonist and I appreciate that they chose this dinosaur like they could have pick a T-Rex and called it a day but no they chose an obscured dinosaur people aren't that familiar with. I love their designs with the red colour plate and horns which is great character design! The way they died is pretty brutal, The love Monkey is fine: I do not understanding why do the internet hates the love monkey so much? Like I get it he suggests Aladar to go get the female dinosaur which is so awkward and out of place but earlier on he is supposed to be a stupid monkey and dose feel like a prototype version of Sid the sloth which his whole purpose is that he is stupid. You can feel for him when he screwed up when he missed the chance to find a mate but eventually got some girls later because he needs a happy ending. He is also a side character and isn't important to the plot. Kron is generic: This got to be one of the most cold blooded Disney characters I had ever seen! He doesn't give a dam what ever Dinosaur had died and doesn't cared if it's eaten by a predator and on top of that he death threatens Aladar! However I wouldn't call him the most unlikable Disney character because all of that he is just a one note character and pretty generic at best and he died so yeah! It's a unique movie (for the wrong reason): I thing I found unique from this movie (besides the animation style) is that it's not a musical unlike most other Disney movies but if it has musical number I would probably just be a generic nothing song. (Skip this statement if you like) Maybe this is Disney's attempt to be in CGI world when Pixar in particular released the Toy Story movies and Bugs Life which was critically received well but his movie didn't do well because how expensive this movie was and then stuck back to the traditional 2D animation until switch back to CGI world again when Chicken Little was released after DreamWorks stole Disney's thunder with Shrek but HEY! That's just a theory! A FILM THEORY! Final thoughts: So that was Dinosaur, a boring and an interesting experience. If I had to be honest calling this the worst Disney movie I strongly and respectfully DISAGREE. It's not that fair calling this Disney worst movie out of the 60+ canon, in my opinion it's harmless at best and inoffensive at worst. I understanding where their coming from, it has a boring story which you came here for entertainment for movies don't you? But as a critical perspective it's not that bad, just because it's boring doesn't mean it's the worst, as along it doesn't have any negative or messy messages which Dinosaur doesn't have thankfully. You might notice I'm doing a series called "Disney's Disgraceful Tragedy" which I pick 5 Disney movies in the canon and explaining it why it's the worst movies I had seen (it was toucher people). Starting off with Ralph Breaks the Internet I already said this movie in my opinion is the worst movie in the Disney canon and I already review it but the differences from Dinosaur and Ralph Breaks the Internet is that Dinosaur is trying to do something different and new even it's not well done, Ralph Breaks the Internet in the other hand try's to be like The Emoji Movie, desperately to be popular or trendy and feels like a cash grab which is disgusting to think about it. Is Dinosaur Cinematic Classic Junk? Yes but it's on a lighter level and (on a lighter note) I personality don't have the heart to hate it. So it's not a part of my Disney's Disgraceful Tragedy and the reason I give this a 3 stars. So that's everything I got to say!
