Man Ice Age is so good foreshadowing it's self , they mention the dinosaurs in the sequel and the first has a frozen dinosaur. I wonder what Blue Sky movie movie is coming ne- !!!!!ICE AGE : DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS COMING SOON!!!!! So despite this movie successful at the box office with 886 million and was the THIRD highest grossing movie of 2009 behind Avatar and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and was the Highest grossing animated movie of the year beating Cloudy and a Chance of Meatballs ,Fantastic Mr Fox , Up and even The Princess and the Frog but was critically received mid or bad reviews with 46% ,this the point where all of the Ice Age movies are a complete downgrade and feels like Blue Sky is milking and marketing the franchise. Which is also most true but honestly I think this movie deserved better then that and this is easily my favourite Ice Age sequel. Without a further-a-do lets open the door get reviewing: Animation: I love the that the animation here and its an improvement because how it used visuals , make it more cinematic , vibrant and comedic the before and more interesting shot angles. Why this movie has the best used of Scrat: In my opinion this is Scrat's funniest movie because of his relationship Scratte. Yeah its way too common that movies in sequels get a girl and the Ice Age rest of the other Ice Age movies after (including Melt Down) just get them a girl because they need a girl version of the main characters , but here it feels like the creators have a funny idea for Scrat and ran with it. In the story board Scratte has a simple design but in the final version she's given a more... attractive design to say the least , but any way we Scrat all alone but he is given a girl to fight with instead of mis-fortune is refreshing and a lot more funny. I love that they didn't take it serious with this. The funny is funny: Most if not all of the comedy is funny like there is some cleaver jokes like when Sid think that Ox is a girl and tries to get milk out of it (which represented this franchise) for the baby dinosaurs but it was a boy and Sid runs and said "I thought you're a female!" is so funny. There are a few p*nis that work for me and I only found adult humour (Particularly $*X jokes) funny if they're like show it , don't tell it type of adult humour I like and Ice Age the Third is no exception to that and only played in a subtle way. I'm happy they don't have the stupid toilet humour or doo humour from the two previous because as any sensible human being I don't find it funny at all. In my opinion this is the funniest Ice Age movie. The first the worst act: This is my less favourite act because how they tried way too hard to make to let the characters move on like when Diego said that he leave the herd and feels rushed too. That's the other issue I had with the first act it feels fast pace and wants Sid to be self-destructive and finds the eggs underground for some reason in the ice and the baby's inside can die but plot needs happen. The first act isn't all bad I like who this series tried to be mature to let Ellie to be pregnant , there isn't a lot of animated movies doesn't do that (The only one I can think on top of my head with the concept is The Emperor's New Groove but it's quite minor) and I would hate it if they take it as a joke because I don't find pregnancy humour funny. Manny and Diego : I think the two are handed weird because starting with Diego first he said that we doesn't want to be apart of the pack and leaves like do they need to make Diego this self-destructive and then comes back like what?! Make up your mind Diego! For Manny I actually hate he says the things guys are for guys like man what's up with you and I get he's over protected over the baby but we had seen this before but I think this is intentional because later on he came to an conclusion that he realised that he see's Sid as an annoying guy and treating him as dirt and when Sid say goodbye to the dinosaurs he put his trunk on Sid's shoulders and now Sid is now truly his friend , so no he wasn't written weirdly. Ellie is at her best: I love she doesn't give a dam and has a function brain at times despite being pregnant. Crash and Eddy are funny now: This is a controversial opinion but in this movie ONLY Crash and Eddy are pretty funny to me because they actually get to do something unlike the sequel which they shout and makes pop culture humour and dose absolutely nothing to the plot but here they get to do something and I like the idea having the two to be Buck Wild's fans and they don't get much of screen time either. The second the better act: We finally see Dinosaurs you know every one in the planet wants to talk about, well here we are. It turns out they are underground the whole time so I guess they didn't get killed by an asteroid , but any ways I love that each place has their own thing and doesn't felt generic unlike most dinosaur-based movies is like grass land or desert land you know the most generic things you can think. Say what ever you want about this movie Buck Wild is the best part and caries of the entire movie because I love that his the voice of reason at times and he as an WILD side which makes him a more entertaining and funny to watch. I love this time Sid is not the comic relief but get more focus in the narrative having the dynamic with the mommy dinosaur and they when all into it! In all of the Ice Age movies we as an audience are divided with the Herd the main plot and the side plot with Scrat but this time Sid gets the focus. On paper it sounds bad like it would be a disaster and dose nothing about it but being annoying like Cars 2 put their comic relief to the main story and yeah Matter is quite annoying , but here despite still being an idiot you can feel bad for Sid for being banned from his family and seeing him getting a heart from his relationship with the babies and mommy dinosaur, I think this is the best used of Sid in my opinion. The THIRD the best act: I love the THIRD act because how it feels like it concluded the franchise but I I'll want to talk about the villain Rudy first because I think Rudy is far better then those fish-dinosaurs things (whatever they're called) because I like he has a guitar playing the background and I love how they Rudy is structured by visuals , Buck mention him first , we saw his foot , we see Rudy what he looks like by not the full picture yet , we see his reflection on the puddle when staring right at Sid and he reveal himself at the third act its good structure. I love we see all of the main characters with the new born Peaches , Ellie said "Welcome to the Ice Age" and all of the main characters gather around and we see them all being a part of the family tree and lower down we see Buck Wild. We finally see Scrat getting his real life but throw it all way over an acorn but got lost it and dose his iconic scream. This would be an great ending to the franchise! Final thoughts: Overall this my favourite Ice Age movie because it has compelling story, funny humour, good moments, good villain and a great ending. As you can tell I love this movie guys. Do I think this is better then the first Ice Age movie? Yes of course I think so! Would I recommended it? Yes I recommended! Would I watch it back again! Yes! Is it perfect? No of course I have a few faults with this movie. Man 2009 is probably the best year for animation in my humble opinion! So that's everything I got- !!!!ICE AGE :CONTINENTAL DRIFT!!!!!!!
