I can understand why people enjoy this movie, but it has been disappointing!! There are multiple flaws including the extensive amount of time the suspense has been held which leads to frustration and ultimately the loss of retention.
Yet, the cinematography draws up a spectacular piece of art(created by Robert Burks), with techniques that has revolutionized the film industry such as the subjective camera positions that pans audience as voyeurs as the camera flows away from the action which portrays the character's perception of the scene.
Although, I found vertigo dreadful to watch as the film has been buried to time by the evolution of digital editing, the whole film felt as if it was dragging with false endings and long scenes compared to newer day films which use hyper/continuity editing which makes the scenes look seem less and not noticeable.
In conclusion, vertigo is a masterpiece and belongs in the hall of fame as it goes down as one of the building blocks to the reincarnation of cinematography and should be remembered as a notorious development in the film industry!
