Hello again Film Club members and welcome to another film review before the new year. On Friday which was the 30th of December 2022 I watched a film called The Full Monty which I have seen many times before and I absolutely love the film even though it has a lot of swearing in it and its my own opinion that young adults who are 15 or older should watch this film because the film is all about a small town called Sheffield, England. Where once a bright community "on the move", and a city which has fallen into ruin after the steel factories are closed and thousands of men lose their jobs. Gary or Gaz"for short is a former worker and about to lose his son because he can't pay for joint custody. His friends who are former co-workers and who aren't doing much better: Dave is depressed and convinced his wife isn't interested in their marriage anymore; Lomper who has to take care of his mom and is suicidal; and Gerald has been lying to his wife for six months about his unemployment. After stumbling across a Chipendales dance club and seeing how many women are paying for it (ten quid times a thousand women equals... "a lot of money"), Gaz realizes that if they can do it, so can he. So that is when the guys pull together, adding Horse and Guy to the line-up. But Gaz realizes that they have to offer something that the "real thing" doesn't... so these guys are going "The Full Monty", which means going totally nude! They not be young, pretty, or very good, but they are there to give it a go and for one night only, with nothing to lose, they're daring to go The Full Monty! This film review has been given five stars which means I loved it because it has some good songs like Hot Stuff which is sang by Donna Summer, You Sexy Thing which is sang by Hot Chocolate and Flashdance... What A Feeling which is sang by Irene Cara which is on because they are watching the film to get some dance tips. My favourite character would Gaz or Gary who is played by Robert Carlyle because he had the craziest idea ever to do a show for females only because he said if Chipendales dance club can do it they why can't any man have a go at it and I also like the actor because he played a character called Rumpelstiltskin in a TV show called Once Upon a Time which I used to watch but never finished it because it's not on television on more.
