Before watching twilight I had already had high expectations after being recommended it for years from family members who had been fans of the films for a while. I knew before watching the film myself that I would immediately fall in love as I had watched shows including fantasy fiction and involving vampires before, also involving horror aspects and romance which I also tend to enjoy.
High school student Bella Swan played by Kristen Stewart known to be a misfit has a complete life change after moving from Arizona to Washington, meeting Edward Cullen played by Robert Pattinson a mysterious teen who shows direct interest to Bella Swan, both well known actors. Edward and his family are unique among other vampires as they don’t have fangs and don't drink human blood. Edward sees Bella as a soul mate however he must struggle to resist the temptation of an uncontrollable frenzy.
Later on in the film unexpected visits enter town and Edward now has to fight to save Bella. The game is on and James won’t stop until she is killed. The plot keeps the watcher intrigued, it's simple yet fulfilling and easy to follow through as the family all want to keep Bella safe from the blood sucking monsters. As twilight is a fantasy based film the whole film is unrealistic and can be known to be overhyped and normally quite youthful. I believe it wasn’t believable but was enjoyable to watch as to why I am leaving a review.
Twilight is my favourite movie and I have rewatched it multiple times, it has a warm place in my heart and is a comfort movie to me. I enjoy twilight so much because of the love plot between both actors Edward and Bella and how their differences do not get between them, however another character jacob shows interest in bella in further twilight movies and supports bella so much she loves both Edward and Jacob being stuck in a love triangle. All characters help intrigue audiences by their attractiveness. Twilight is also known for its sensational soundtrack and are listened to, to this day no matter how old these films are; released in 2008.
One scene that is definitely my favourite in the first film is when Bella is nearly crushed by tyler's van after he loses control of the wheel and edward is there before the van could do any harm to Bella, protecting her from the van and stopping the van that it only hits the rear end of Bella’s truck. The filmmaker has definitely included this scene to show the connection between Bella and Edward and how Edward would do anything for Bella even risking his own life. Its an emotional and intense scene.
I would most definitely recommend this film to other people but mostly youthful or young adults as it is not too scary for students even though it does include the horror genre, and the romance in the film is kept to a minimum for students 13+. It has an interesting plot to follow and can be relatable for students included with romance and falling in love. I can’t relate any films to twilight as I see it to be unique and pretty much impossible to find any better, in my opinion.
