Chris Wedge directs this hilarious classic, prepare to wonder at this alternate world as this films manages to revolutionise children’s comedy movies.
In a world of sentient robots, striving young inventor Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) wants to work for the avuncular Bigweld (Mel Brooks), whose Bigweld Industries makes spare robot parts. But Bigweld has just been deposed as company head by the villainous Phineas T. Ratchet, who wants to make all robots submit to profitable forced upgrades. In this animated adventure, Rodney and his friend Fender go underground to fight Ratchet's evil plans.
the bright colours and animated cartoon look of this film reflect the hopeful and happy music used in the film give it the feeling of comedy and friendship.
The voice actors in this film perfectly execute the slapstick comedy and exaggerated personality frequently used on children’s movies and create the perfect form of comedy for this film type.
I loved this film and would recommend it to anyone who loves films like the over the hedge or other 3D animated films. It’s a timeless classic that I’m sure will live through many more generations.
Print this reviewThis visually spectacular German sci-fi classic (made, incredibly, in 1927) sees the rich live in skyscrapers and the poor toil underground.
