The Emoji Movie (2017)

The Emoji Movie… The worst idea for a film ever. I would rather watch a film about furniture than a film about happy little faces. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, responsible for amazing films like ‘Into the SpiderVerse’ and ‘The Mitchell’s VS The Machines’, bring the world of Emojis to the Big Screen. This film follows Alex, a casual high school kid who falls in love with a girl. Inside his phone, Gene (Voiced by TJ Miller), an emoji who can’t control his emotions, gets his dream job at being a proper emoji. However, when Alex tries texting the girl he likes, Gene freaks out and makes Alex want a new phone, meaning that the emoji world will be wiped out. Luckily, an emoji called High-Five (Voiced by James Corden WHY IS HE IN EVERY ANIMATED FILM FOR KIDS) knows an person who can help him become a normal emoji and change Alex’s mind on getting a new phone. After lots of boring segments, Gene, High-Five and Jailbreak (Voiced by Anna Faris) set off on an adventure across Alex’s phone by visiting different apps (Basically just product placement galore). Also Sir Patrick Stewart plays the poòp emoji which is a bit sad. I don’t get how a film about emojis managed to hit the big screen but 2017 had weirder films. This movie didn’t even make my 5 year old cousin laugh, so I don’t recommend it. This film deserves -1 million stars but I can’t do that so I have to give this film a one star rating because this movie is
