This film is an animation/family/adventure film. Prepare to join two marvellous miniature mice on their daring quest to rescue a girl from danger and menacing monsters.
I have read one of the books this film is based on. The main characters, Bernard and Bianca, appear in both. There is also a cat in both, except the film one is opposite to the cat in the book, because the one in the book is EVIL, whereas the one in the film is really kind. As for the plot, the third book has a girl in need of a saviour, just like the film.
I really like the Dragonfly in the film, who pretends to be a motor. His name is Evinrude, which is the name of a boat engine company.
My least favourite character is the evil woman, Medusa (of course). You’ll see why if you watch this movie...
This is done in original Disney animation style, and it was filmed in 1977. It might not seem realistic at first, but as I watched it, it made me feel worried about the Protagonists and I felt the peril with them. The filmmakers did well in making me feel as frightened as the Main Characters were. They created a very threatening atmosphere, but it's not ALL doom and gloom.
I won’t give EVERYTHING away, but the mice WILL surprise you!
I recommend it to anyone 7 and over who likes adventure and doesn't mind hair-raising excitement.
I give it five stars, because there are incredible hurdles, but the mice overcome them with great bravery and courage.
