This film is a comedy/drama/action film for the family. It was filmed in 1960 by director Ken Annakin. It took what is now $367 million, making it one of the most successful family films.
It is about a family of 5, the mother, the father and 3 sons, as well as their Great Danes. Because of being shipwrecked, they are trapped in the middle of an island teeming with animals. They build an amazing treehouse as a home on the island. Then they discover… They’re not alone! Will their fight to survive on the Island end well? Who is it that threatens their safety?
This is one of George Lucas’s favourite films. He is the director of Star Wars. He also took some inspiration from this film, which is probably why I like it so much. There is loads of adventure and action in it.
The film made me laugh a lot, it was very amusing. The treehouse setting is marvellous, and I just LOVED the island. The action was EXHILARATING! My favourite character was the youngest son because he reminds me of myself, only a little cheekier. I can imagine being as excited as him about the animals, my favourite being the tiger!
I would recommend it to people 7 and above, who like adventure and action-packed films.
