This is a Disney live action film made in the 1960s about a family that gets shipwrecked on their way to New Guinea and find their way to a desert island. This is also based on a classic children’s book, so you can read that before you watch this film if you want to.
Just too inform you, his film is quite old, so the graphics aren’t really what we’re used to nowadays, so keep that in mind, but it is still very good!
This film is set in what seems to be a tropical island, with jungles, plains, and forests!
The family try to survive in their harsh environment, which can be entertaining! They try their best with what they have and build things with the resources they can gather.
Also, they eventually have to find SOME sort of enemy, so the film introduces us to pirates. These aren’t nice pirates, they pretty much want to kill everybody on the island for some reason. But it’s funny to watch the silly family try to fight back against the pirate scums! You've got to see the epic battle they have!
With their resources, they make traps and fight for the island with the pirates. Also, they built an amazing treehouse which pretty much inspired everyone in my Film Club!
I really liked this film because it may have been old, but it was still funny and very entertaining to watch!
I rate it 4 stars. This has happened before, but Into Film won’t let me review half-stars, so I would rate this four and a half stars, but, I think I’m just going to have to leave it at 4, because of Into Film’s settings.
Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope you have been encouraged to try this movie!
