Rushmore follow Max Fischer, a 15 year old student who fails in all tests but succeeds in creating many extra-curricular activities in his spare time, and his love for a teacher at his school. While the plot is overall simple, Rushmore is packed to the brim with many different events all pushing forward the main plot. Wes Anderson continues to use his classic style of interesting set locations and an excess of symmetry although there is a definitive lack of colour in this piece, leading to a much less invigorating experience. The pacing of the film is very strange with many scenes that should've been longer lasting an instant and vice-versa. This leads to a very rushed pace that seems to go on forever. While issues with the pacing did take from the overall experience the main plot and themes were enough to keep me watching. Overall, Rushmore is an extremely fast paced movie with underlying comedic tones that would keep most viewers interested.
