Inside Out (2015)

I watched a film was called Inside Out.

The film was about a girl called Riley who moved to San Francisco. She didn’t cope with moving. When they arrived at their new house she went into the house and it was full of rubbish and there was a dead mouse in the corner. She went into her room and it was very small; there were bits of screwed up paper lying everywhere.

Riley had emotions in her head. They were called Joy, Fear, Anger, Sadness and Disgust. She had islands in her head. They were important memory islands and they were the things she was most interested in. There was the Family Island. There was a Friend’s Island. There was a Goofball Island and a hockey island. There was also an Honesty Island.

My core islands would be Family Island, Imagination Island, Harry Potter Island, Art Island and an island of Happiness.

She felt sad about leaving her old house. Joy tried to make her remember all of the things that made her happy but instead Sadness made Riley’s happy memories turn sad. The more sad Riley became the more she wanted to leave and her core memories started to disappear.

Joy tried to make Riley happy but it didn’t work that well because sadness kept making all of the happy memories turn sad. In the end Riley understood it is okay to be sad.

I feel sad when my brother upsets me, when I fall over, when I don’t have my soft toys and when I can’t see my family. When I feel sad I just go to my room and do some colouring or I listen to a story. I also, almost always, play. I like to play Vikings with my little toy Playmobil Vikings and my big, red toothless dragon.

It is good to recognise your emotions.
