Billy Elliot movie review
My expectations of Billy Elliot were not high as I expected a very average film with the plot of a child finding something he likes that his parents wont approve of then after a few montages with a song the parents find out before the child can compete in the “finals” but they let him in the end. That is what happened to some extent but it did a lot of things differently like having his father find out very quickly and have a lot of it focused on miners strikes which made it a lot more emotional and nearly made me cry but that is normal because I cry all the time in movies. So, my expectations where definitely low but they were surpassed as this film did enough things differently to interest me and make me emotionally invested. I think it reflects British values of being able to do whatever you want and being free to express yourself and the ties to the miner’s strikes is very strong and that would reflect the British values. Overall I’d say I really liked this film and would recommend it.
