Spectacular Masterpiece-
Ant-Man is an unlikely superhero story in which this shows the redemption of Scott Lang from house burglar to crime-fighting superhero, this is well presented in a special effects masterpiece woven with CGI with hints of humour and outlining that Ant-Man is almost like a superhero comedic rival to Spider-Man. This masterpiece also outlines that Ant-Man is separate from the Avengers Saga and that Ant-Man is stand-alone Marvel action trying to show that Avengers isn't the only great feats of Marvel. Ant-Man seemed to also start a long trend of stand-alone superhero stories with other movies made by Marvel and even DC. In my opinion, I prefer stand-alone superhero because we have been running with superhero teams and groups for so long it's boring after this long since 2012's Avengers Assemble, I always find it a joy seeing announcements of stand-alone superhero films and even making stand-alone of superheroes already in a "team" examples of DC's Wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman and Marvel's Thor series, Captain Marvel, Tom Holland Spider-Man series with more on its way from 2021.
Ant-Man's compelling story is perfectly presented in humour, action and even a few cameo's and references to other Marvel works with a brawl against the Falcon ontop Avengers Mansion and a heist stealing a device from Tony Stark. The Ant-Man story is to me fit best with no sequels as it ended perfectly on its own, but in true Marvel fashion, Scott is given news which makes him cameo is the next year's Captain America: Civil war which just had to bring another Ant-Man sequel after Infinity War which just had to tie Ant-Man in a team in Avengers: Endgame. This is probably my biggest complaint about marvel if something works don't milk it dry so thing it's boring and repetitive this is why I don't enjoy the newer Avengers movies as I thought it worked with just Avengers: Assemble and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
As far as effects go it is just amazing seeing how smoothly the effect of shrinking and growing is perfectly presented with slow motion. The science talk in most movies and the biggest culprit superhero movies and most of all Ant-Man with the "Quantum Realm" which happens to be a real part of physics. The quantum realm is like a world made of CGI showcased in Ant-Man and is said to be impossible to exit. As far as Science Fiction goes in action movies I don't think much of it, to me its just actors reading a script that was written with fake science but Ant-Man seems to be mostly scientifically correct.
The movie was beautifully crafted and is amazing in general and something common with directing a movie but not so much writing as you always see lead actors directing and/or producing such as Tom Cruise producing the Mission Impossible and Clint Eastwood directing in movies he is the lead in but Ant-Man's speciality is that Paul Rudd who stars as Scott Lang was one of the main writers being the secret ingredient to the humour and comedy within Ant-Man as well as the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Overall Ant-Man is an all-round great production with well-crafted comedy, story and action and the main reason it is great is that it had an amazing comic series to base off written by the legendary comic writer of Spiderman, Iron-Man and the Fantastic 4, Stan Lee. IT was all down to how the material this film was based on was and to credit the filmmakers behind this masterpiece they did a great job recycling an old tale which was the first debut in 1962 and keeping something that old relative and re-imagining it is a great feat. Ant-Man deserves 4 stars for being comedic, having an amazing story and really will be a pleasure even for them viewers how are not a superhero fan it is an all-round great.
Ant-Man follows the story of the redemption of ex house burglar Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and his origins story of the use of technology that rose him to save the world from a sale of super suits that will kill millions produced by tech mogul Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) Scott is risen to fighting crime and saving the world by the mentoring of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) Darren's original boss, as well as being aided by Pym's daughter and board member of Pym Technologies, Hank's company he was thrown out of which is run by Cross. Ant-Man must put Cross's work down to save greater humanity.
