5 feet apart is a film about 2 teenagers who has spent most of their lives within hospital walls due to cystic Fibrosis- Will (played by Cole Sprouse) and Stella (played by Haley Lu Richardson). The film follows what its like having friends and falling in love with people who also have the illness. Due to the illness they are not allowed to stand within 6 feet of each other. Stella has to make sure she takes her treatments and she has to make sure her room is always in a neat an tidy order. Will on the other-hand constantly does not take his treatments and is very negative towards taking them to get better. Stella has a YouTube channel which she uses to show the world what its like living with Cystic Fibrosis. On her YouTube channel Will finds out everything her can about Stella and soon finds out about he sister Abby. Po (Stella's best friends who also has the illness) is an amazing character who always supports Stella and what she chose to do. They have known each other since they were very little as they both have the illness and both tell a lot of jokes to make the other happy and possible to forget about their illness for a moment.
I think that is the perfect film for teens who like to watch a romance, comedy and sad film unlike any other because it is funny and emotional at the same time. It highlights how close friendship can be which many teens would be able to relate to.
I personally loved this film and watched it because Cole Sprouse is in it. It is one of my favourite films. I wasn't like any other film that i has seen before. I loved the ideas that they have used in the film because the characters couldn't touch. The characters Will and Stella are almost complete opposites but they soon realise that they have a connection. I loved they way that they would listen to each other and later say what the other character had once said to them. Even though the film has a very emotional ending I still found it amazing and didn't wanted to end. I hope that their could be a 2nd one but I don't think that that will happen. I love how Stella uses all of the places that mean something to them to show Will how much he means to her on his birthday. My favourite scene in the film is when they first meat because it is funny and makes you want to know more about the characters. I also loved the ending as it was cute but very sad at the same time. The music throughout the film fits perfectly with what is happening and at some points makes the film even more emotional.
