This film was a deep look at Ian Curtis's life while he was struggling with depression and epilepsy. It goes through the ups and downs of his career. He is brilliantly portrayed by Sam Riley a perfect fit for the role, he perfectly puts across how Ian is feeling and coping with major struggles that occur in his life.
Since it is a biography for a band you would expect the music to be phenomenal and it is (though I may be biased because this is me and my Dad's favourite kind of music) the music and concerts are simply amazing, some of the songs are used to foreshadow what is to come even if in real life it was unintentional.
In conclusion, I would say this movie is worth watching even if you aren't a Joy Division fan because of its commentary on mental health. This movie isn't going to give a satisfyingly happy ending but will make you think and that is really important.
