This film called 'Holes' is a recreation of the original book 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. As I have read the book, I can compare both book and film. The film does indeed have some changes but not too much to change the entire storyline. I probably enjoyed the book more than the film because its original.
This film was a bit of an bumpy road, in story wise. This is film is mainly about a boy called Stanley Yelnats who is accused of stealing a pair of shoes worth thousands. When he faces the Judge, he can either go to prison or go to Camp Green Lake for 18 months. When Stanley makes the decision of going to Camp Green Lake, he is shocked by what he sees. Camp Green Lake is neither green or neither has a lake.
A lot of the scenes are based at Camp Green Lake as that is the main location. Throughout the film, you see the same dusty, barren wasteland which is a bit boring but the drama that happens will keep your eyes and hears concentrated throughout the film.
My favourite sound in 'Holes' is the spades clanking across the dirt. For me this is quite a nice , enjoyable sound. I just love the sound of the echo when it happens.
I would agree at this being a PG as it contains mild violence, so may not be appropriate for young ages and audiences.
