Somehow Jared Hess has managed to take a great plot, likeable characters and one of the greatest comedic actors of all time and churn out something positively boring... This film had the potential to be so much better that the final product ended up. I mean for God's sake, it was about a fat Mexican getting beat up, repeatedly. The only saving grace in this film is the overweight genius that is Jack Black! Jack Black's crazy antics are soley responsible for the three star rating I gave this film. A point to make: Jack Black's acting success relies soley on his eyebrows; if we were to shave his eyebrows in a biblical "Samson shaving" type episode, his acting powers would be severely diminished.
