first of all , is movie is probably one of the most satisfying movies of all time.
I love this movie because it just show how many times the girls needed to break he rules to show that color dose not matter .
firstly i loved it when Dorothy had to seek into the computing room to work out all the problems that NASA was having and she ended up probably one of the most smartest people in NASA . One of the most satisfying moments in the film was when Dorothy went to the book shop to get the book she needed to figure out the code for the computer at NASA but it was not in the colored section so she went into the white section of the book store and got it , unfortunately the employee who worked there kicked them out there and she just didn't make a big fuss about it in front of her sons which i think is amazing. But, she always fought back and broke the rules to show everyone that she was right and it dose not matter the color of your skin.
Next i want to talk about Mary , she was the first colored women to go to the engineering school. She worked day and night to get into the school just so she could help NASA win the space race, another Satisfying moment in the film was when he went up to the judge in court , face to face and told him hundreds if not thousands of reasons why she should be in the school and she should be going to that school even if she was black. And she did get in which was amazing! She did over come any problems any body ever told her she could not do.
And last but not least, Katherine. Fist of she finally got into the big pentagon area of NASA where all they big chiefs are , she got her first pile of work and got herself a cup of coffee and suddenly all of the white people just stared at her because she was using the same cups that they use. Next up, there was now bathroom in the white section of NASA so she had to run half a mile to where black building on the other side of the campus just to go to the bathroom. Then all these changes whee happening that they decided to make at the big meeting that she could not attend because she was black. Because she was black she could only were on string of pearls , 2 inch high heels and a low dress. In fact the most satisfying moment in he movie was when Katherine stood up to all of the workers in the office , she said . " There is no bathroom for me here at the white , i have to go to the bathroom at the colored building which is have a mile away, did you that ..., all these rule because i am black , dress below my knees , the heels, and a simple string of pearls, BUT LORD KNOWS YOU DON'T PAY COLORED ENOUGH TO AFFORD PEARLS , so sorry if have to use the bathroom a few times a day " And now she worked with NASA through the space race, goes to all of these meetings even the office bought her pearls to wear to her wedding.
Not only is this movie showing racism , but is shows a bit of sexism as well. Mary was the only women to attend the school , Dorothy as the women in there office and man Katherine met did not think that a women could be that smart. Also there is a very common saying in this movie " that just the way things are" which show that now one has a real answer they do not know why they are being racist people.
overall i enjoyed this movie 10/10
