Macbeth, a Shakespearian story, was an animated tale and the genre of this film was a tragedy. It was one of the best tragedies since a really long time ago but then there were way more tragedies that were created a couple of decades, never mind that but centuries. Well, maybe not exactly the movie but the story that Shakespeare heard about and told was not too bad actually. There was a real version of this film, however the animated one is more suitable for kids. It’s not so bad but it’s not too good either. It’s just a movie full of drama and murders. If this interested you, read on to find out more.
The film opens on a bleak heath, which is where three silhouetted figures are standing as still as mops in buckets and it seems like they were waiting for someone because they did not move at all. Cut to the battle: Macbeth is fighting the king of Norway. Macbeth meets the three witch-like, mischievious figures, possessing and telling the prophecies of ruling Norway. Turns out, they really were witches. Returning from the heath, Macbeth is told to kill King Duncan he sleeps in order to take over for his replacement. The story continues with a lot of drama and murders by Macbeth: his friend, Banquo; Macduff’s wife and her children. In part, his own wife, Lady Macbeth, commit suicide as it is her responsibility, Macbeth’s and the witches.
In some parts of the movie, it was inappropriate because there was a flying baby in mid-air, who is completely naked, that you could tell it was a certain gender. It wasn’t really great to watch because of the way it was animated. It had really terrible graphics that not everything could be seen and this meant that it was quite blurry. For me, it would have been better if it was real and mone spine-chilling. However it was not because it was not suitable for 10-11 year olds. There wasn’t much bloody deaths nor were the witches mysterious enough.
Whereas this is for my age, I thought that it could have at least had better graphics and no inappropriate scenes like there have been a couple of in this movie. Maybe, younger children would have enjoyed more than how much I would have, I’m pretty sure.
I have only one positive point about this movie, the sound and music that was in the background, as it sounded as if I was watching the actual movie, the one that was recorded with real people in real life. The music really went with the current scenes that were happening. When it was a bad scene, they played bad and dramatic music, to complete the scene.
I definitely do not recommend this but I am sure that you guys will not as much as me. It is alright for those who like tragedies and things like this. Although, not everyone as old as me or older will like it since you will probably understand that it is not appropriate. Well…that is the end of this review!
