This film is quite predictable. It is a typical teen-romance about a girl who finds a sudden love for her best friend. It deals with the different aspects of relationships such as, arguing and cheating.
During the movie the characters seem to care more about relationships and and online statuses more than anything else. It is like a game is being played where they are constantly competing to get the opposite genders attention instead of focusing on their school life. As a new school year starts Lola's heart is broken by her ex-boyfriend, who cheated and ignored her over the summer. Throughout the film the main characters struggle to find enough confidence to confess their newfound love for each other. Both Lola and Kyle realise that their friendship has blossomed into something much more. The movie consists of cheesy lines said in almost every teen-romance, along with a mature topic that may or may not be suitable for ages 12 or under.
During the movie Lola's mother finds her daughter's 'mature' diary. And as curiosity takes over she ends up reading it. Her mother discovers that Lola has been keeping important secrets and that their mother-daughter bond has grown apart. This movie ,although cheesy and predictable, shows how online statuses and romantic relationships get in the way of family and school life. I feel like the teenagers in this movie want to grow up too fast and that they accomplish that.
To conclude this movie was quite predictable and a classic, not that good teen-romance.
