The Woman in Black is a great example of a film to watch if you're a fan of scary films! Like other classic British films such as the Harry Potter series, The Woman is Black is based off a novel. There is also a play of The Woman in Black, which means there are many different ways you can access this story! Although it is quite a tame film compared to most horror films, there is still plenty of suspense from within. Because this film is rated 12, it helps to attract an even wider audience of people including families. Another reason why it is excellent that this film is a 12 rated is because most horror films are either 15s or 18s, meaning that younger audiences who want to watch a horror film would get a chance to see one. The Woman in Black is definitely a great film to start of with from horror genre, it is probably one of the first horror films I've ever watched! Plus, if you want to watch a horror film which isn't too scary or disturbing then I'd definitely recommend it! Many people have mixed opinions on this movie, however I thoroughly enjoyed this film and all the tension it had to offer. Some of the elements included witch make the film scary are jump scares, eerie music, ghosts and some gore/violence. However, most of it is still quite tame and isn't too graphic for people who are aged 12 or over.
The only negative point to make about this film is that I was quite let down with how the film ended as it could've been more exciting, however I wont give it all away as that will spoil the whole movie! Besides, people may have different opinions of the ever end of the film, even though the end wasn't that great in my opinion it still didn't ruin the overall film for me! So, before I conclude my review of The Woman In Black, here is a very brief summary of what the film is about. This film is set around the Victorian era in England. The protagonist of this film is played by Daniel Radcliffe. His character is a lawyer who comes to visit a very mysterious house. Later on this film, he discovers that this house is haunted by the dangerous ghost of a woman wearing dark clothes. It is very clear that nobody is safe from her spirit as she always looking for the right opportunity to strike at any moment. That is all I am going to say for now, to discover more about what happens in the film then you should find out by yourself! So to summarize and conclude everything I've spoken about, Woman in Black is a great film to watch and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested!
