The creative idea and imagery this show utilises, composed alongside the humorous demeanour of Jim Carrey that he brings to every on screen appearance, really exaggerates the unique characters and plot points.
While watching the film, I particularly enjoyed how the audience seems to be enlightened at a similar rate to Truman, the character, about the world he finds himself in. Not to give too much away, but the plot devices used in this case are really powerful, as it keeps the watcher skeptical of how the majority of the film will play out.
With a good few twists and turns down the way, ‘The Truman Show’ keeps the audience invested entirely until the very last second. The choppy nature between the two contrasting scenes in the film create a true juxtaposition between sceneries. It’s almost like the upfront information being displayed, then when you didn’t think there was anymore to it, it hits you with further depth. This method proves helpful towards the general appearance of the show, as it reels the watcher in and keeps them antsy on the edge of their seat, determined to know what happens next.
Overall, I believe ‘The Truman Show’ to be a very good film due to the odd, yet revolutionary, plot concept.
