'Up' is a film about an old man named Mr Fredricksen, who marries a girl named Ellie. After Ellie's unfortunate death, Mr Fredricksen turns into a grumpy old man who is always snapping at everyone. One day, a boy whose name was Russell knocked on Mr Fredricksen's door to ask for a badge for some club, but he said "NO!" and slammed the door in Russell's face. Then, one day, Mr Fredricksen decided to fly his house to Paradise Falls, somewhere Ellie and him had planned to go to back when she was alive. He planned to fly to paradise falls by tying balloons to his roof. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door and outside was Russell, looking as though he would faint. Russell asked if he could come in but Mr Fredricksen shut his door and went inside. He returned again a few minutes later and said, " Okay. You can come in." Russell scurried in looking very relieved. They flew up and up and up, until they started going down and eventually landed in a jungly place. A bird suddenly appeared and Russell gave it chocolate. He then named it Kevin and wanted it to follow them. Mr Fredricksen wasn't so keen on that idea! At the end, they meet a dog called Dug who is supposed to be working for a villainous guy named Charles F.Muntz, who us evil like all the other dogs that work for him. But Dug didn't want to work for Charles so tags along with Russell, Kevin and Mr Fredricksen instead.
Charles F.Muntz wants to keep Kevin for himself and claim that he discovered the rare bird, but Russell and Mr Fredricksen will do any thing to stop him.
I liked this film a lot because at the end it has a happy ending where Mr Fredricksen and Russell do lots of things that Russell used to with his family. I also liked that in the beginning when Ellie and Mr Fredricksken first meet she gave him a grape soda badge. At the end of the film he then gives his special badge to Russell.
It is a nice story because they have both lost people and make friends and have each other.
