I liked this film as it gave an insight to Tonya Harding's everyday life which was something I found really interesting as she did not have the typical upbringing that you would expect an olympic figure skater to have. Margot Robbie's performance as the title character was amazing as she brought the Tonya's personality to life and showed how her childhood influenced her as young woman. One of the stand out elements of the film for myself was the camera angles used, especially when filming the ice skating performances. The movement of the camera brings you into the performance and keeps you on the edge of your seat as you wonder if Tonya will complete her tricks or fall. Despite many aspects of the film being great I personally did not enjoy it as much as I thought it would due to there being more of a focus on Tonya's home life and how that affected her rather than her career journey and the scandal that she was involved in. However, I would still recommend this film to anyone with an interest in the sport of figure skating or to anyone who likes more documentary styled films.
