I first found brokeback mountain on Netflix and I was just flicking through the LGBT category as I am a big fan of LGBT films and honestly i liked the film but not a lot to actually feel emotional. However I did feel sympathy for both Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Ennis (Heath Ledger).
Brokeback Mountain is a Hollywood film that is centred on a homosexual relationship which is unusual for a mainstream Hollywood film but who am I to complain?
It is set in Wyoming at the start of the film but it does also go to Texas and Mexico (but just briefly for Mexico). We first see Jack Twist and Ennis Del Mar outside Joe Agguires work place. Where Jack's pickup truck has broken down and as for Ennis we find out he's saving up money for his future marriage with Alma and his family.
Brokeback mountain is a forbidden type of love where having homosexual relationships is illegal, which makes the film quite interesting for the audience. At the start Jake and Ennis's love starts to flame but once the work they have to do is done they pat ways only to find each other again twenty years later with a family of their own. This is when the story starts to pick up the pace where you can actually get to see the story unfolds.
And if you're one who loves to watch emotional, thrilling and homosexual relationships in films then this film is for you, I recommend you to watch it.
