Everyone everywhere has heard of Eminem and his style of rap but does everyone know what he went through to get to where he is now? 8 mile depicts this story perfectly, showing the blood sweat and tears of Eminem's rise to fame. The way this film is shot is different from other drama documentary style films, therefore putting the audience in the the position of Eminem on how it was like living in the hood of Detroit as a white man. Eminem wants to be the best rapper in his block therefore he has to grind for the title. Another rapper who play a part in the film are Xzibit whom was very popular at the time of the films release this managed to bring in more of an audience from those who followed the early rap movement, Eminem is known by everyone and the release of this film shed light on who he is as a person and not just the artist. My thoughts of the film are positive; as someone who listens and knows a lot about the rap scene present day I find it interesting when I learn about other generations and how it has changed. This film represents how old school rap and the new mainstream rap has conversed. This makes the film into an enjoyable lesson if you're into the music as well as being a interesting narrative.
