Sleeping Beauty is about a King and a queen who give birth to a beautiful daughter named Aurora, however the evil witch Maleficent is filled with rage and jealously and curses Princess Aurora to fall into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday. She falls into a deep sleep by pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. Her true loves kiss happens to be prince Phillip, but Maleficent kidnaps prince Phillip so that he cannot wake Aurora up, it is left down to the three fairies to free Phillip and wake Aurora. This is an excellent film that is appropriate for families even though it was only aimed at young children when it was first made. It teaches young children about love and jealously and the fact that jealously can happen in all types of relationships (in this case the jealously was aimed at Aurora from Maleficent. This film also contains humour that young children find funny, for example when the three fairies are fighting over what colour Aurora's dress should be. The film also includes lots of different songs but the most well known one is 'Once upon a dream'. Overall this is a brilliant film that can be enjoyed by families of all ages.
