This is one of the most suspenseful and tragic movies I've ever watched. I will totally recommend it and think it gives off an important message. It is about life in World War II. In the film there is a small German boy called Bruno who has to move house due to his dad getting a promotion at work. There is a camp nearby which is where Bruno's dad and men force Jews to work. Bruno hates the place until he finds a boy on the other side of the fence which soon becomes his friend. Bruno and his friend Schmall are unsure about their surroundings and the war. They both think their father's are doing the correct thing but only one of them can be correct. One day Schmall cannot find his father so Bruno decided to help him by going under the fence and help look for this father. But when they went into one of the huts they were pushed into another room where a poisonous gas was released onto them. There was not a voice to be heard in the room after this occurrence. This is a heart-touching movie with an extremely tragic ending. The worst thing about it is that it just happens so fast and it is so unexpected. I think Mark Herman has done an amazing job when directing this movie and has truly created a masterpiece.
