Terrifying horror made to look like real home-video footage capturing supernatural activity occurring in a couple's suburban home.

Paranormal Activity is your classic haunted house horror movie but filmed in the "realistic" style known as found footage/ handheld. It explores the lives of a young couple living their lives. We have seen movies like this in the past like the Blair Witch Project, UFO Abduction and Man Bites Dog. All these films are shot in the controversial handheld style which has been in debate now for a long time. So seeing this again in Paranormal Activity was nothing new. The movie was stretched out for most of the film and I found myself getting bored throughout the entire time of the film. although I understand that this was the movie building up suspense and I did like this about the movie but altogether this was the best part. The story was a bit dull and it's sad to see that horror movies are going along with these, especially in the handheld genre. So I was disappointed to not see them make something I could enjoy. Overall, the movie, I feel, is good for people who want to explore the horror genre or people who have not seen a handheld movie. If you watch horror, I would not suggest this movie to you, as I feel it lacked in story and was boring at times.
