Unlike most people of this generation, when I watch a movie, I am not looking for state of the art effects (even though it's good to have them). I'm looking for a fun film I can sink my teeth into. Luckily, King Kong is that movie. It's fun to watch, I want to see more and the characters (at least most of them) aren't annoying. It still has flaws. There are a lot of plot holes, it's pretty sexist and, even though I love stop motion, it looks pretty fake. I enjoyed the movie, but it has it's flaws. So I think he deserves its 3/5 rating.
