An interesting film following Joseph Gordon-Levitt's protagonist as he tries to solve a mystery around his school, Rian Johnson's Brick is a good noir thriller, though perhaps it gets a bit big headed. It's attempts to follow the noir genre sometimes over complicate the narrative, distracting from characterisation - the plot can be hard to understand. From a film making perspective though it is easy to see why both Gordon-Levitt and Johnson have become so successful. Overall I would recommend this film.
